A Person with Compassion, Integrity and Resolve
有仁愛之心又有高尚節(jié)操、堅強意志的人?！叭嗜恕敝赣腥蕫壑?、有德行的人，“志士”指有遠大志向、堅強意志和高尚節(jié)操的人。也說“志士仁人”。多泛指熱愛國家、民族，為國為民出力的人。他們尊崇道義，為了正義事業(yè)而甘愿自我犧牲，為世人樹立了行為典范、精神表率，為后人所景仰。
Renren (仁人) means benevolent and moral people. Zhishi (志士) refers to one with lofty aspirations, resolve and integrity. This expression usually refers to a patriotic person who works for his people and country. Such individuals have a strong sense of right and wrong, and will sacrifice themselves willingly for a just cause. Their actions and spirit are much respected models for later generations.
